Mobile Game Quest challenged pupils in the Netherlands to make the ultimate location-based game. Over 200 pupils battled to win the contest, which was held at the end of 2008 and the beginning of 2009.
By means of the Mobile Game Quest, teachers could introduce students to the new educational tool Games Atelier completely free of charge. Students of all ages and of all years in college could participate.
Mobile Game Quest was part of Games Atelier, an innovative new educational tool for schools. In Games Atelier students use mobile phones, GPS and the Internet to create, play, share and watch games together. Games Atelier is very easily implemented in exisiting curriculums and supports educational progression. It is a new and inspiring way to teach students and uses their interest in new technology to get across the teaching material.
Besides competitions, Games Atelier is represented in the regular offer of training and workshops of Creative Learning Lab and as a product for schools to use it throughout the school year.
